About
Annie is a Canberra based artist. She has studied Art History at the Australian National University in Canberra and Graphic Design in London.
"I paint from my own experiences and surronds. I enjoy playing with the composition and the balance of a scene or setting. I love colour and striking simple shapes. I have a large collection of photos, images and journals which I often refer to. When choosing what to paint I'll look through my collection, spread things out on the floor and often manipulate the images before deciding on what to do. I like abstracting and exaggerating without losing the subject matter. I'm interested in flattened abstract forms and patterns and the way in which they can represent "
